A Swinging Chair and Adjustable Desk – What More Does an Office Need?
…or how we furnished the KOSTAL Global Business Services Center
The real estate sector’s most significant event: the Office of the Year competition and the Real Estate Awards—an annual tradition since 2010. The Smart Office Solutions team has been participating every year since our founding in 2015. Over the years, we have accumulated numerous awards, and we proudly cherish our references. Among them, our most valued and treasured projects are the ones that earned us these recognitions.
One such project was furnishing the KOSTAL Global Business Services Center. We welcomed the revitalization of Városliget, just as we did the rise of 21st-century offices along Dózsa György Road. In early Q2 2023, we undertook the furnishing of a 2,730 m² office space for KOSTAL’s 150 employees. As always, our primary goal was to create value by tailoring solutions that enhance their daily comfort. KOSTAL, a family business that has grown into a multinational corporation, has always prioritized employee satisfaction. Sustainability, energy-efficient solutions, and the elegant use of recycled materials are fundamental principles for both them and us.
So, what exactly did we contribute to their workspace design? Let’s take a look at some key elements!
The Bene Level Lift Pure Twin height-adjustable desks combine the advantages of a Workbench and a Lift Desk, promoting both communication and teamwork—whether sitting or standing. This design connects two individual desks with a shared leg structure, creating a dual workstation that is both minimalist and ergonomic. The result is a clean and organized look in the open office space.
Each desk surface is independently adjustable in height and can be configured with centralized cable management for a tidy workspace. Plus, if needed, the desks can easily be separated back into two individual workstations at any time.
The Bene NOOXS phone booth is one of our favorites. Its “room within a room” system, with its simple design, offers an excellent solution for creating temporarily usable, soundproof spaces. The glass wall elements allow plenty of light to pass through, making the booth transparent. If you’d like more visual isolation, you can easily achieve this with curtains or shades. The ceiling, equipped with air exchangers and LED lighting, along with the booth’s maximum 39dB noise reduction, meets every need for privacy and comfort.
Another favorite item in this project is the Scab Lisa swing, which provides users with the relaxation necessary for creative thinking. Its steel tube structure, offering maximum safety, combined with an elegant seat and backrest, and woven sea rope, is available in a variety of color combinations. The swing can be ordered with a custom hook or even a self-supporting structure, making it easy to place in any environment.
We could further expand the list of great furniture provided for KOSTAL with Pedrali Nemea chairs and Stylus tables in the kitchen area, True Design Not sofas, Noti Mishell armchairs, Pedrali Ikon and Bene Delta conference tables, Actiu Talent flip-top tables, or Pedrali Elinor executive conference chairs. But you’d be reading for ages! So, we’ll save that for later.
So why did the new office of this German, family-owned corporate group—present in 21 countries across four continents and best known as an automotive supplier—win the award? Because the innovative solutions implemented bring the brand’s defining characteristics to life. They are building the employer brand and creating a unique employee experience, from the Play Zone to the Silent Zone, from the community space to the library.
